Ready to Learn Initiative 2024-2025

Starting on September 3, 2024, we will be offering additional supervision in the mornings where students are welcome to come to the cafeteria for a hot breakfast! 

Why?

As part of this initiative, our dedicated staff will be available to supervise students starting at 7:40 AM each school day. This new morning initiative is designed to help address student tardiness and ensure a smooth start to the school day. Research has shown that students who have breakfast are well-prepared to engage in their academic lessons.

Who?

• Memorial School students in Grades 3-6.
• Taylor Street School students in Grades K-2.

Where? 

• Memorial School Cafeteria. 
  • Students enter through Main Entrance doors.
• Taylor Street School Cafeteria.
  • Parents bring students to the door of the Cafeteria through playground.

Cost?

• A daily hot breakfast costs $1.75 for students not receiving free/reduced meals.
• There will be no cost for students who receive free/reduced meals.  

When?

• Breakfast is offered daily, even during compressed day schedules.
• During delayed opening days, breakfast will be Grab-and-Go only.
