The Regular Meeting of the Washington Borough Board of Education, originally scheduled for October 21, 2025, has been rescheduled for October 28, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial School.
 

The Washington Borough Board of Education is seeking interested individuals to fill current School Board vacancies. 

To become a member of a local board of education in New Jersey, you must:

  • Be able to read and write
  • Hold U.S. citizenship and one year’s residency in the school district
  • Be registered to vote in the district before filing the nominating petition and not disqualified from voting pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:4-1.
  • Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the board
  • Not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body or, in the case of county school districts, the county governing body
  • Not simultaneously hold two elective offices
  • Not be disqualified from membership for the conviction of certain crimes pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1. (Within 30 days of election or appointment to the board, a member must undergo a criminal history background investigation through the state Department of Education.)

Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest by mail or email to Brian Latzke on or before October 22, 2025 at 4:00 PM.
